Jason Mudrick | Chief Investment Officer

Jason is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., an investment firm that specializes in stressed and distressed credit. Mudrick Capital was founded in 2009 with $5 million under management. As of August 2024, the firm has grown to manage approximately $3.4 billion, primarily for institutional clients.

Jason began his Wall Street career in 2000 advising on mergers and acquisition transactions as an Associate in Merrill Lynch’s Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking Group. In 2001 he joined Contrarian Capital Management, where he began his focus on distressed credit investing. In October 2002 Jason launched the Contrarian Equity Fund, an investment vehicle focused on purchasing debt that would be restructured into equity, post-bankruptcy equities and other event driven deep value special situations. As Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Contrarian, Jason grew that business to peak assets of approximately $400 million in the Contrarian Equity Fund and close to $1 billion in total assets including the positions Contrarian’s other funds co-invested along-side Jason's fund. Jason left Contrarian in October 2008 to launch Mudrick Capital.

Jason has served on dozens of creditors' committees and served on the Board of Directors of numerous public and private companies, including Safety-Kleen Holdings, Integrated Alarm Services Group, Salton, Rotech Healthcare, NJOY Holdings, Corporate Risk Holdings, Mudrick Capital Acquisition Corporation, Mudrick Capital Acquisition Corporation II, Fieldwood Energy, Proenza Schouler, Affinion, cxLoyalty, Tenerity, AURA Network Systems, Thryv, Nelson Education, GetAround, and 2U, Inc. Jason also spent two years in graduate school teaching economics classes to Harvard University undergraduates. Scott Bynum | Managing Director & Portfolio Manager of Global Stressed Credit

Scott is a Managing Director & Portfolio Manager of Global Stressed Credit at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he is responsible for analyzing special situation opportunities across a diverse range of industries. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Scott served as a co-Portfolio Manager of the Global Credit Opportunities Fund and related SMA’s at CVC from 2013 to 2021. He was also responsible for building the Global Special Situations strategies, for which he served as a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining CVC, Scott was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs in the Global Bank Loan Distressed Investing group where he was responsible for hedging and portfolio analytics as well as leading investments across the capital structure in public and private companies. Scott graduated magna cum laude with a BSE from Princeton University.

Kent Kim | Managing Director & Senior Analyst

Kent is a Managing Director & Senior Analyst at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he focuses on analyzing credit and equity opportunities across a diverse range of industries. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Kent was an associate from 2011 to 2013 at Kohlberg & Company, a multi-billion dollar private equity firm. While there, Kent worked on a variety of middle market private equity transactions including platform and add-on investments, divestitures, and financings across numerous industries. Prior to that, Kent was an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Origination & Restructuring investment banking group at Credit Suisse from 2009 to 2011. Kent received his B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Princeton University.

Shankar Murugavell | Managing Director & Senior Analyst

Shankar is a Managing Director & Senior Analyst at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he focuses on analyzing credit and equity opportunities across a diverse range of industries. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Shankar was an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Diversified Industrials Group at UBS Investment Bank from 2007 to 2009 and a Summer Analyst in 2006. At UBS, Shankar advised companies in various industries, including diversified industrials, energy and consumer products, on strategic alternatives including mergers and acquisitions and capital market opportunities. Shankar received a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University.

Lisa Ong | Managing Director (UK) & Portfolio Manager of European Stressed Credit

Lisa Ong is a Managing Director & Portfolio Manager of European Stressed Credit at Mudrick Capital Management (UK) Ltd., where she is responsible for analyzing investment opportunities across the capital structure (credit and equity) across all industries, with a focus on Europe and ex-US. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Lisa worked as a Senior Investment Professional in Canyon Capital from 2013 to 2021 and in Apollo Management from 2011 to 2013 where she played an instrumental role in growing their investments in Europe. Prior to joining Apollo, Lisa held various positions in King Street Europe, Credit Suisse and ABN AMRO, both in London and in Australia. Lisa has a Masters degree from the University of New South Wales and a B.Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Matt Pietroforte | Managing Director & Senior Analyst

Matt is a Managing Director & Senior Analyst at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he is responsible for analyzing special situation opportunities across a diverse range of industries. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., Matt was a Principal at Davidson Kempner Capital Management from 2015 to 2019 where he evaluated special situation investment opportunities. Previously, Matt worked as an investment banker in the financial restructuring advisory groups at Centerview Partners and Miller Buckfire. Matt received a B.A. from Amherst College with a double major in Economics and Psychology and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Abrams | Senior Analyst

Michael is a Senior Analyst at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he analyzes special situation opportunities across a diverse range of industries. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Michael was a Partner at Repertoire Partners from 2023-2024, where he started as an Analyst in 2021. Joseph Estrada | Analyst

Marti Llena Prats | Analyst

Marti is an Analyst at Mudrick Capital Management (UK) Ltd., where he is responsible for analyzing special situation opportunities across a diverse range of industries , with a focus on Europe and ex-US. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Marti worked as an Associate at Credit Suisse from 2019 to 2023, and at DC Advisory from 2023 to 2024. During his time at DC Advisory, Marti advised companies in various restructuring and distressed M&A transactions. At Credit Suisse, Marti structured financing solutions backed by cash flows, assets and real estate, among others. Marti has a Master’s degree in Finance from IE Business School graduated from Pompeu Fabra University with a B.S. in International Business Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.

Kevin Sahl | Head Trader

Kevin is the Head Trader at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he is responsible for trade execution and analyzing special situation opportunities across a diverse range of industries. Formerly, Kevin was as an Analyst and the Head Trader at Kenmont Investments Management, LP from 2005 to 2009, covering various industries within the transportation sector. Prior to that, Kevin was an Analyst with Carlson Capital, LP from 2003 to 2005, focusing on investments in the airline sector. Kevin also assisted in risk analysis of Carlson’s credit portfolio. Before his work at Carlson, he was a Senior Associate at DebtTraders, Inc. from 2002 to 2003, where he specialized in aircraft trust certificates. He also worked as a Summer Associate at Lincolnshire Management, Inc., a private equity firm in 2001. Before attending graduate school, Kevin was a Loan Trading Analyst at Bank of Montreal from 1996 to 2000. Steven Cannell | Trader

Steven is a trader at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P. where he is responsible for the implementation of distressed and stressed strategies involving a broad range of security types and sectors. Prior to his time at Mudrick, Steven was a credit trader at Verition Fund Management where he was responsible for the execution of three quantitative fixed income strategies operating in the high yield corporate bond, investment grade corporate bond, and credit derivatives markets. Steven began his career as an analyst at H/2 Capital Partners where he assisted with the financing and operations of investments focused in real estate. Steven received his B.A. in quantitative economics with a minor in mathematics from Providence College.

Glenn Springer, CPA | Chief Financial Officer

Glenn is the Chief Financial Officer of Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he oversees the finance, accounting and operations functions. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Glenn was Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer at Turtle Creek Investment Advisors, LLC from 2007 to 2008 where he developed from inception, its operational and financial infrastructure. Prior to joining Turtle Creek, Glenn served as Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer of SBZ Select Investments, LLC from 2005 to 2007 where he was responsible for the finance, accounting and compliance functions, including the registration of two investment advisors with the SEC. Previously, Glenn served as Controller (A.A.I.UK), Director of Fund Accounting, and a Risk Management Affiliated Fund Analyst at Asset Alliance Corporation from 2000 to 2004. Prior to Asset Alliance, Glenn was a Senior Accountant in PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP’s Financial Services and Business Advisory Services Group from 1998 to 2000 where his focus was on audits of a variety of investment companies including hedge funds and private equity funds. Glenn began his career at Richard A. Eisner & Co. LLP from 1996 to 1998 where he was a Senior Accountant in the Audit Department. Jonathan Villoslada, CPA | Controller

Jonathan is the Controller of Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he supports the CFO in overseeing finance, operations, and administrative functions. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Jonathan served as Controller of GLG Ore Hill LLC, where he was employed from 2008 to 2014 and was responsible for the fund accounting and reporting functions of the fund. Prior to joining GLG Ore Hill LLC, Jonathan was an Auditor in PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP's Assurance and Business Advisory Services Group from 2005 to 2007 where his audit clients included hedge funds and broker dealers. Jonathan received a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers College. Jonathan is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Justin DeVito | Operations Manager

Justin is an Operations Manager at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he supports the CFO and Controller in accounting and operational functions. Prior to joining the firm, Justin spent four years at Och-Ziff Capital Management, in various roles covering fund accounting, derivative settlements, security reference data processing and most recently a role as Financial Controls Manager of the P/L reporting group. In this role, he managed the daily valuation and performance reporting processes of the firm’s hedge fund business. Justin began his career as a Senior Hedge Fund Accountant at SS&C Technologies, Inc. where he focused on trade processing, partnership allocations, valuations and NAV calculations.  Justin has a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting from Pace University, where he graduated with the highest GPA in his major.

Nuha Chowdhury | Manager

Nuha Chowdhury is a Manager at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P, where she supports the CFO and Controller in operational and accounting functions. Prior to joining the firm, Nuha worked at Domio as a Director of Operations, expanding their Operations in North America. Prior to Domio, Nuha worked at Guggenheim Partners in Operations, focusing on syndicated bank loan transactions. She began her career at Nomura in Prime Brokerage. Nuha holds a B.S. in Finance from Fordham University.

Grace Arnold | Accountant

Grace is an Accountant at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where she supports the CFO and Controller in operational and accounting functions. Prior to joining the firm, Grace worked for KPMG LLP as a Senior Tax Associate, and her clients were primarily real estate funds and other alternative asset managers. Grace received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi.

Michelle Lord | Executive Assistant to the CIO

Michelle is Executive Assistant to Chief Investment Officer at Mudrick Capital Management, LP.   Previously,  she provided executive support to Chief Investment Officer and Investment team at 400 Capital Management, LLC. Michelle has 15 years of experience as an Executive Assistant to C- suite officers in different industries. She started her career as a Commercial Real Estate Broker at Cushman & Wakefield then transitioned to administrative roles at Estee Lauder, Christie’s, Hearst Magazines, and Citigroup.  Michelle received a B.S in Psychology from Florida International University in 2000.

Olivia Cicinelli | Office Manager

Olivia is the Office Manager at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital in 2023, she worked in Private Luxury Travel. Beginning in 2018, Olivia worked as an Associate Travel Specialist at Skies the Limit Travel LLC., where she was responsible for planning and coordinating trip itineraries and travel plans for luxury clients. Olivia received her B.A. in Criminal Justice & Psychology with a minor in Italian from Marist College in 2022; where she competed on Marist’s USCSA Ski Racing Team. After graduating, she returned as the Head Coach during the 2023 ski season.

Carly Gross is a Managing Director & Head of Investor Relations at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P. Previously, Ms. Gross was a Principal and Senior Product Specialist on the Global Credit Investor Relations team at Carlyle. Prior to Carlyle, Ms. Gross worked in Investor Relations at Och-Ziff Capital Management, where she also served as a Product Specialist. She started her career at Cello Capital Management, a boutique structured credit hedge fund. Ms. Gross graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania, where she was a Joseph Wharton Scholar and a Ben Franklin Scholar.

Anthony Williams | Managing Director, North America Business Development

Anthony Williams is a Managing Director at Mudrick Capital Management LP., where he is responsible for North America Business Development. Prior to joining Mudrick, Anthony worked at Partners Group from 2020 to 2023 where he led investor relations and sales efforts for the Southeast region of the U.S. and was a member of management.  Before Partners Group, Anthony served over 20 years in various distribution and business development roles at Schroders and Dresdner RCM, where he focused primarily on public and Taft-Hartley funds.  Anthony began his career as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.

Anthony received a B.A. in marketing from Morehouse College.  Previously, Anthony also worked in London and Hong Kong after being awarded a fellowship through City Fellows for Finance.

Muny Sidhu | Director, North America Business Development

Muny Sidhu is a Director of North America Business Development at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital in 2024, Muny was a Director at PJT Park Hill from 2017 to 2024 where he was a member of the Alternative Credit/Hedge Funds group. At Park Hill, Muny assisted in the origination, due diligence and fundraising/execution of hedge fund and alternative credit commingled funds, co-investments and direct equity investments for global hedge fund and alternative credit managers. He began his career in Investment Banking at Cascadia Capital, focused on mergers and acquisitions. Muny received a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from McGill University.

Andrew Neggia, CAIA | Vice President, North America Business Development

Andrew is Vice President of North America Business Development at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital in 2022, Andrew was a Client Analyst at Wellington Management Company from 2019 to 2021. At Wellington, Andrew worked on a relationship team servicing the firm’s clients in their subadvisory and hedge fund distribution channels. Prior to working at Wellington, Andrew was a Senior Associate at State Street from 2016 to 2019 in their Transfer Agency department. Jamie Ferrara | Investor Relations

Jamie is responsible for Investor Relations at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital in 2009, Jamie was the Public Relations Coordinator for McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, an international law firm, from 2007 to the Fall of 2009. At McKenna, Jamie coordinated and managed all media relations for the firm, managed the firm media database and website, and coordinated firm events. Jamie received a BA in Business Administration from Miami University in Ohio (2005) and a Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from Emerson College in Boston (2006).

Nazneen Meah | Investor Relations (UK)

Naz is responsible for Investor Relations at Mudrick Capital Management (UK), Ltd. Prior to joining Mudrick in February 2020, Naz was a Legal PA for the CDC Group plc, where she supported the Deputy Chief Legal Officer and a group of equity lawyers. Her responsibilities included managing the review processes for NDA and consultancy agreements, overseeing travel logistics, and arranging conferences both in the UK and internationally. Prior to CDC Group plc, Naz worked as an Office Manager at PetroSaudi. Naz received a B.A. (Hons) in Business Administration with Operations Management from The University of Greenwich in London.

Victoria Koleski, CPA | Investor Relations

Victoria is responsible for Investor Relations at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P.. Previously, she served as a Senior Accountant where she supported Mudrick's CFO and Controller in overseeing finance, operations, and various administrative functions. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, Victoria worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP as a Senior Associate and her clients were primarily hedge funds and private equity funds. Victoria received a B.B.A. in Accounting from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Science in Accounting from Babson College. Fleming Landau | Investor Relations Analyst

Fleming is responsible for Investor Relations at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital in 2024, Fleming worked at Truist Securities as an investment banking analyst on the real estate team. Fleming received a B.A. in Art History from Bowdoin College, where she was the captain of the women’s tennis team.

John O'Callaghan, Esq. | General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

John is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he oversees the legal and compliance functions of the firm. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, John was Associate General Counsel of Lone Pine Capital LLC from 2012 to 2017 where he was responsible for developing and managing legal and compliance functions within the firm.  Prior to joining Lone Pine, John was an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP from 2007 to 2012 where he focused on advising investment advisers and private funds on legal and compliance matters.  John received a B.A. in Chemistry with departmental honors from The Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. cum laude from Brooklyn Law School.  John is admitted to the New York and Connecticut state bars.

Kung-Che (K.C.) Tai | Senior Legal & Compliance Associate

K.C. is the Senior Legal and Compliance Associate at Mudrick Capital Management, L.P., where he assists in managing and developing the firm’s legal and compliance functions. Prior to joining Mudrick Capital, K.C. worked at Iron Road Partners, LLC as a regulatory consultant. At Iron Road Partners, K.C. worked with various alternative investment firms to assist with their compliance programs. Prior to working at Iron Road Partners, K.C. worked in the legal and compliance department at Oppenheimer Asset Management Inc. from 2013 to 2021, where he was a director from 2019 to 2021 and was responsible for regulatory filings and implementing the firm’s compliance program.
